Phil Bischoff, Outreach

Phil BischoffMy Heart: I have a deep passion to relate to those different from me. I love learning about people’s lives and discovering how we are connected. We are all sinners but we have a God who gave us the gift of heaven and the promise to never leave us in this life. I’m a sucker for social interactions, gatherings and parties. Teamwork is one of my deepest values and optimism is the fuel and keeps me going. I love teaching and performing, especially if the subject matter is expressing the truths of God’s love.

My Story: God blessed me with amazing Christian parents who had me baptized as a newborn. I attended Grace Lutheran Elementary School in Glendale, then Arizona Lutheran Academy in Phoenix for high school. I shot off to Martin Luther College for two years after high school, then finished up my college studies at ASU with a bachelor’s degree in Human Communication and a minor in Business. I developed an interest in Hispanic Culture and the Spanish language and studied abroad in Argentina and Chile. I lived in Torreon, Mexico for six months as I taught English as a Second Language and did missionary work for a Lutheran church. I then taught high school Spanish and coached basketball, baseball, and speech club at Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee, WI for three years. I received a call to be Director of Outreach at CrossWalk and have been here since July of '08.

In Milwaukee, I met my now fiancée, Rachel, who is an amazing, creative, beautiful Christian woman. God has really blessed me!

On My iPod: Rachel picks out good music and then I listen to it.
