Audio Engineer

Objective: To enhance the worship experience by providing audio assistance, resulting in clear communication of the worship message and music to a large gathering of worshippers.

Supervisor: Production Manager

Tasks:

  • Listens and studies songs prior to Sunday worship (via Planning Center Online)

  • Performs proper sound checks (gain settings, monitor mixes, proper volume settings, monitor connections)

  • Preps pastor microphones with batteries and proper ear pieces and/or handhelds

  • Checks to make sure all batteries are charged and at the appropriate levels

  • Attends pre-service meeting with Worship Arts Director

  • Remains engaged at sound board

  • Follows worship order and worship leader’s direction for sound needs and/or troubleshooting

  • Assists with teardown of all audio equipment

  • Checks with teardown team to see if additional help is needed

  • Communicates with Production Manager regarding scheduling

  • Attends production team meetings as needed

Expectations:

  • Term: 1 year renewable commitment

  • Time: 1 month scheduled on/off' 6 hours on scheduled Sunday

  • Training:  Sunday morning mentorship

  • Enrichment:

    • Actively learns about products and resources to enhance audio production

    • Attends other worship facilities and/or concerts for further learning

  • Spiritual Growth: Regular worship and growth group participation encouraged

Qualifications/Skills Needed:

  • Age Requirement: At discretion of the Worship Arts Director

  • Skill Requirements:

    • Technology savvy

    • Experience in mixing audio in a live environment OR willing to attend training and work alongside a mentor

    • Ability to think quickly and react/trouble-shoot properly in high stress situations

  • Additional Requirement: Signed confidentiality agreement
